Caramel Apple Sugar Babies
Well, I feel silly.
I was cleaning up last night, cleaning out my large wooden chest, not paying attention to the wood and metal lid over my head. Didn’t stay over my head for long. Hello, concussion! Just a bit of whiplash, too, for good measure. So now my neck and head hurt, one side of my head is incredibly tender and I’m nauseated by a strong wind. Such fun. Why do I always get sick or injured at the start of the new semester?
That said, I have been distracted by another variation on Sugar Babies. I really like the regular ones, although I only buy them rarely. They’re the kind of candy I’ll just keep eating until I feel sick, something I ordinarily don’t do with candy. I’m also from the Midwest, so I’m a candy apple person. (Did you know the candy apple/caramel apple thing is largely regional?) These have a Sugar Baby center, with an apple-flavored coating. Actually, it’s more of an extremely artificial sour apple flavor. I can’t say I’m fond of it – it makes my throat burn. It also overwhelms the caramel, making it little more than a texture and a vague taste. I’ll stick with the regular kind.
