Godiva Chocoiste Milk Chocolate Domes

Oh, man, so much for writing more than once a week!  On Monday, my laptop decided running was too much effort, and it quit.  All of my pictures are on the laptop, as well as the software I need to use my camera.  It’s at the laptop guru’s place now, and hopefully I’ll be back to posting nice photos as well.  Until then, it’s pure text.

Godiva calls these little treats “domes,” but I would rather refer to them as buttons.  They’re not tall enough to be domes, and instead are disks a little smaller than the diameter of a quarter.  What they lack in size, they make up for in taste.  Each little piece is like a squashed truffle – in this case, milk chocolate surrounding a hazelnut praline center.  What I really like about these is the intensity of the toasted hazelnut flavor, as well as the texture contrast between the firmer milk chocolate and buttery filling.  There is also a hint of coffee, although there is no coffee in the ingredients.

The only drawback is that there aren’t very many per package – only twelve bite-size pieces.  Actually, that may not be a drawback.  The pieces have disappeared in record time.  They’re highly addictive, but eating too many at once makes the roof of my mouth burn.

SCORE: 9 out of 10
