Reese’s Select Clusters
Reese’s is getting fancy. These are a peanut-buttery variation on the classic turtle. It consists of peanuts, pecans, peanut butter and caramel, all covered with milk chocolate. They’re about the size of a Nestle Turtle, 0.5 oz., which is a nice, 2-bite piece. I appreciate their using real milk chocolate, and not mockolate.
Although the peanuts and pecans get top billing, the body of the piece is primarily peanut butter, then a close tie between chocolate and caramel. The peanut butter is just what you would expect from a Reese’s – mostly smooth with a light graininess (which is good in peanut butter), slightly dry, and sweet without being cloying. The caramel is buttery and firm, but not chewy, and the chocolate is the same that you get in a Reese’s Cup – sweet and mild, and quick to melt. I would have liked more nut pieces. The pecans were there in name only, and although they added a nice crunch, there weren’t enough peanuts to really stand out. It is a tasty variation on the standard Cup, and is not as over-the-top sweet as the Reese’s Cup with Caramel.
Pictures will be returning soon, and I’ll back-post photos to this entry when they do. Just picture an orange bag with gold lettering.
Lowdown: A yummy Reese’s treat that could use a few more nuts.
SCORE: 8.5 out of 10

Sounds awesome in theory! Anything with Reese’s PB is pretty hard to mess up though
